Boundry Line Adjustments
Boundary Line Adjustments (BLAs) are often used to solve a boundary line problem without the need to go to court or hire an attorney.
If a deed line does not match the line of possession, a BLA is often the best and most cost effective solution to the problem. Different jurisdictions have various requirements for a BLA but most of them now require a Record of Survey.
Another use for a BLA is to create lots with potential building sites when only one of the lots may have good building sites before the BLA.
HARMSEN & ASSOCIATES offers a creative & cost effective solution to many land development problems by using a BLA. BLAs require a registered land surveyor to prepare the legal descriptions for the new parcels as well as for the tracts of land which will be exchanged.
A Boundary Line Agreement is a vehicle provided by the RCW 58.04 that allows property owners to establish lost or uncertain boundaries between themselves. A land surveyor is hired to monument the agreement line, draft new legal descriptions, and record legal documents and a map with the County Auditor.
